UNITED STATES NAVY SELECTS OFFICEWATCH FOR SUPERCARRIER
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – Jan 15, 2009--
Metropolis Technologies, a leading manufacturer of telemanagement software, is pleased to announce that its OfficeWatch product has been selected by the United States Navy for its Nimitz-class of supercarriers. After passing rigorous testing by Armed Forces technology contractor, Ki Company, OfficeWatch was selected for use on this specialized fleet of Naval aircraft carriers. OfficeWatch is now installed on the USS George Washington and the newly-commissioned USS George HW Bush, with plans for five more supercarrier implementations before the end of 2009. The Enterprise version of OfficeWatch was selected for both supercarriers, which allows users access to the system from any PC with and Internet connection or from client PCs connected to the existing network. The Enterprise version also includes TrafficWatch, a graphical trunk analysis utility that provides in-depth information on trunk usage and inbound and outbound telephone traffic.
The Nimitz-class of supercarriers is a line of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers in the United States Navy and are the largest capital ships in the world. In fact, these supercarriers hold the world record for displacement of any naval war vessel. For example, the USS George HW Bush is nearly 1,092 feet long (nearly as long as the Empire State Building) and is home to 6,000 Navy personnel. There are currently ten Nimitz supercarriers in total that are deployed throughout the world.
